Hatha Yoga Amsterdam & The Hague

Hatha yoga is the connecting of opposites. “Ha” means sun and “Tha” means the moon. Yoga is the connection The connection between body and mind, through the breath. Hatha yoga is powerful on the one hand, and relaxing on the other. It strengthens and relaxes the body and relaxes the mind. The breath is the bearing force of every movement. Concentration on the breath creates a meditative attention that leads to stillness. The attention goes in, to yourself. You work from physical awareness to inner awareness, creating more balance in your total thinking. This brings you into contact with yourself, your environment and teaches you to deal better with what comes to you in daily life. This creates balance.

Completion of the Hatha yoga class:

The lessons last 75 minutes

  1. Rest moment, to bring attention to yourself.
  2. The moment of rest is followed by a number of physical exercises (asanas), which are linked to breathing.
  3. The exercises are alternated with visualisations, meditations and pranayama.
  4. The last fifteen minutes of the lesson consists of relaxation. We conclude the lesson with a cup of tea. I give small group lessons with a maximum of 10 people.
